How The Staff And Other Medical Practitioners Started Wearing Scrubs At Work.
Since the existence of man, the gradual changes over time in the medical field have been the most experienced. This ranges from how it was conducted in the early days to how it is conducted now and other related issues surrounding it. For example in the past, medical practitioners relied on their knowledge and only what they knew about treating a particular disease. The internet and technology in general has helped the research of medical requirements easy. Many people did not know the kind of diseases they suffered from and this made treatment very hard.
A notable improvement is in the area of clothing in the hospitals and when treating patients. These regulations in clothing have not always been there and it is only after the 20th century that this was insisted on. Many surgical operators used to have only the clothes that they wore at other places and used to conduct operations in them. Aprons were introduced in the surgical rooms especially because it was believed that it would prevent any kind of infection that can be passed to the patient in surgery. In all this time, surgical operations were being conducted bare handedly.
As time went by, it was discovered that even surgeons had to be protected from patients who could transmit their infections and diseases and so counter measures were to be taken on conducting procedures. Disposable gloves came into the scene as they were seen to protect the surgeons. The doctors also had to cover their faces.
There was requirement for an extraordinary attire to be worn by every one of the surgeons and furthermore other staff. The theatre had to be put clean and this even applied on the attires.
During this time of think, a solution that is used up to date was found. Scrubs were introduced as the better option to this solution. This clothing is characterized by a drawstring pant and a short sleeve v-neck shirt designed as per regulations.
The introduction of scrubs came with a number of rules. Scrubs, especially for surgeons in operating rooms should e the only clothes worn. Another very important rule also is that scrubs cannot be in bright colors more specifically white as it causes a strain in the eyes of staff.
Many investors have taken it upon themselves to do the scrub business. being one of the main hospital attires, it makes the business very demanding. Prisons have adapted the same trend and use the attire for its prisoners as they are easy to procure and not complicated.
